ENHANCING THE PROFESSIONAL LIVES OF VETERANS
THROUGH
BUSINESS OWNERSHIP & ENTREPRENEURSHIP
2.5 Million Small Businesses are owned by American Military Veterans according to U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Advocacy and 99.9% of those are classified as small businesses.
Although small in percentage, these Veteran businesses have a big impact. SBA reveals veteran owned small businesses employ more than 5 million people in the U.S. Additionally, they generated revenue of $1.14 trillion, an annual payroll of $195 billion and they represent 9.15% of all U.S. businesses.
The problem is almost 3 in 4 or 74% of veteran owners are over the age of 55. So, there needs to be more young veterans opening their own business.
The good news is 200,000 servicemen and women are transitioning to civilian life every year. And a quarter of them say they want to start a business. As a result, there is some new blood coming into the pipeline. For this reason, having the resources they need in place is key to ensuring their success when they start a business. The AMVCC is dedicated to this cause.
STRIPES TO BUSINESS
The AMVCC supports the growth and development of Veteran owned businesses.
We unite Veteran communities by helping create local Veteran chamber chapters, and offer collaboration opportunities nationally and internationally.
We unite Veterans with their supporters, encouraging the collaboration of Veterans, Veterans owned businesses, Veteran Organizations, Government Agencies, patriot businesses, nonprofits, and corporate sponsors, and more.
We offer business education, networking, marketing, and advertising opportunities.

FUTURE PROGRAMS
We’re currently researching, developing, creating partnerships and securing funding for the following.
Let us know if you’d like to get involved!
Veterans Mentorship
When Veterans transition out of military service into the civilian world, it can be rough. It helps to have mentors who have “been there, done that” and can help offer guidance and support.
Experienced business owners can help make the transition smoother for aspiring Veteran business owners.
Employed Veterans can also help transitioning Veterans as they seek employment.
Transition is a big change for the whole family so Milspouse and family members may also find mentoring to be helpful.
Veterans Business Start Up
Starting a business can be overwhelming, especially for a Veteran who is already adjusting to so many changes. Successful business ownership can offer financial stability to Veterans and their families.
We want to help make the transition easier for our aspiring Veteran business owners.
According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, about 20% of U.S. small businesses fail within the first year. We want to help set Veterans up for success whether a Veteran wants to be an independent contractor, franchisee, or create their own unique business.
Veterans Business Accelerator
Starting a business is just the first step. According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, by the end of their fifth year, roughly 50% of small businesses have failed. After 10 years, only around a third of businesses have survived. We don’t want Veteran business owners to be just another statistic.
To be truly successful, Veteran business owners need to be able to take their business to the next level.
We want to help them grow their business and give them the opportunity to hire other Veterans who are looking for employment opportunities.
Veterans Business Certifications
Veteran businesses are eligible for certifications like Veteran Certified, Disabled Veteran Certified, Minority Certified, and Women Owned and many others.
Veteran Government Contracts
Veterans have a higher priority when it comes to government contracts. We have access to experts who can help.
Veteran Business Awareness
The AMVCC is dedicated to advocating for Veteran businesses through awareness programs, encouraging consumers to buy products and services from Veterans.
