EMPLOYMENT & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

About 250,000 service members transition to civilian life each year and 75% of them are looking for employment in corporate America. Add that number to the 10 million Veterans aged 18-64 and we see that the Veteran population can be a great source for corporations looking for highly skilled employees.  

Veterans are fantastic corporate employees. Veterans are trained to adapt to new and evolving conditions with the ability to perform under pressure. As a result, they have leadership qualities that help them work well as part of a team environment. But most of all, they persevere.

While civilians may have some or even all of these qualities, vets are trained to go through scenario after scenario of adversity. This develops a mental toughness that doesn’t allow one to give up easily and persevere no matter what.

In fact, Veterans make up less than one percent of the population, but close to 10% of leadership at firms in the U.S. according to a report from the SBA.

Professional Development

We offer monthly training online on subjects that further enhance the professional lives of Veterans.

Topics include sales training, marketing, advertising, networking, HR 101, funding options, LinkedIn, and much more.

The workshops are open to the community for free.

Career Preparation

Transitioning from a military career to a civilian career is a major life change. The AMVCC wants to help make this transition smoother by helping Veterans prepare for their next career.

Whether it’s updating and translating resumes to mock interviews, the AMVCC has access to professionals who can make the process easier and more effective.

Career Fairs

Military personnel come with unique skills, talents and experiences that can be very beneficial to corporate America. The AMVCC wants to help introduce transitioning military, Veterans, and their spouses to corporations, employers, and recruiters who want to hire our nation’s heroes.
